As the Internet has deep-rooted into all areas over the woeld, the network scale is spreading out increasingly. However, the IP addresses of network under IPv4 are gradually depleting and could not provide a good quality in their week secuyity as well as their service. Private colleges and universities has its own characteristics. Since the college was established in 1992, its campus was expanding, the number of users was also increasing year by year, many peoblems have been risen: the public addresses and education net export belt width were shortage, as well as insufficient funds and network security, although the campus network has been upgraded many times. In order to continuously upgrade and optimization of network, it still needs timely introduction of new technology and advanced equipment. The emergence of IPv6 wll gradually change all the situation. In respect of the global development trend and the actual status and situation of the private college’s campus network it needs to further promote the campus digitalization, information and intelligent development and keep up with the pace of the next generation of Internet development. In that case we have to analyze carefully the technical requirements of the core layer, convergence layer and access layer and propose that the college should adopt a binary three-ring network topology structure to establish the IPv4/IPv6 protocol stack for campus network..Then the college has to develop a dual stack network IPv4/IPv6 after choosed the binary three-ring network topology structure and given a design plan. Especially, the college needs first to choose some laboratories to complete the IPv6 network so as to acquire experimental data before the college’s comprehensive deployed based on IPv6. We have acquired the basic data through the link-test of IPv6 exmerimental dual stack protocol network and CNGI-CERNET2, through building and test of application servise platform, through the simulation test of the tunnel technology and protpcol translation as well as the test IPv6 web page. In the process of designing and establishing of experiment network, we should learn and understand more comprehensive knowledge, especially campus-network technologies, such as address allocation, routing technology as well as router configuration and test, the network server configuration and debugging, network security, network communication technology, and the web, etc. More importantly, we should exploit some key technologies for transition, such as IPv4/IPv6 dual stack, tunnel technology and protocol translation. At the same time, in building a successful IPv6 network on the basis of experiment, we build the college’s IPv6 test web page and communication platform between our school and other institutions-brothers IPv6 through the construction of the web.My paper, taking the college IPv6 campus network deployment under the premise of the design and implementation of the project, has deployed successfully IPv6 experiment network in campus network design, through a series of experiments. The private colleges can in the case of insufficient funds. The obtained first-hand information and data illustrate that the school can make use of the current equipment through a small amount of equipment setting up the updating. We have mastered the techniques and methods and can deploy IPv6 network in campus network on the existing IPv4 design. With the use of a variety of transition technology, the college can realize exchange of visits between IPv4 and IPv6 network in campus network. By the accumulated experimental data and experience the college can realize smooth transition to IPv6 network. Direction of future work of the construction of the college’s campus network will be mainly concentrated in the IPv4/IPv6 how can double protocol stack network on the premise of smooth transition and coexistence improve transmission rate and safety.
