Research On The Reference Service Of University Library Based On User Information Environment

As the documental information center in university, academic library is an important place for users to do daily learning and academic research activities. Due to the rapid development of network and information technology, it becomes a new target for academic library to implement its essential function of reference service for users and also establish new service mode. Library reference service has received attention from all sectors as the concept of "user-centric" becomes more and more popular. Currently, reference service is a core business and also an important embodiment of the value of Library services. As the libraries are exist for users, it’s a major trend to evaluate the reference service from the perspective of the users during the development of library, while the degree of satisfaction of users should be an important criterion during the evaluation.In this paper, a series of issues related to reference service and user information environment has been discussed from two aspects of theory and practice. Refer to the related research, the reference service situation of colleges and universities in Liaoning province has been described in detail, based on the practical research of the colleges and universities in Liaoning Province. Through further analysis of the obtained data, the current situation of reference service of academic libraries in Liaoning province has been summarized, the problems existed have been also discussed and some suggestions for improvement are put forward.This paper includes the following aspects: introduction, overview of user information environment and reference services, current situation of reference service of university libraries in Liaoning Province, the establishment of reference service mode based on the user information environment. Finally, the work of this paper are summarized, and the focus of future research are put forward. The research methods used in this paper include literature research method, network survey method, statistical analysis method, comparative research method and typical case analysis.The innovation of this paper lies in taking the university libraries in Liaoning Province as the main research object, and taking the users(college teachers and students) information environment as basic point to study the reference service. According to the analysis of actual survey results of university libraries in Liaoning Province, the deficiency existed and corresponding suggestions for future development have been put forward.
