Some teenagers suffer from information poverty.This article finds out the rule and influence factor of the teenager’s information behavior by collecting and analyzing the modes and characteristics of the public’s information behavior. Consequently, this article also concludes the primary manifestations of teenager’s information behavior combining with the teenager’s own characteristics and proposes appropriate solutions specifically.Foreign research survey data shows that teenagers share more information technology products and have higher adaptability to information technology. Teenagers claim more information resources. But it doesn’t mean that teenagers can effectively query and use the information they’ve got, so that the value of information can be fully reflected.In the information requirements, information retrieval and information use three steps, information behavior of teenager have defect which results in teenagers’ information poverty. Information cannot be fully used and absorbed by teenagers. It is because that the teenagers are in a particular growth period which is called adolescence. During adolescence, teenagers’ physiology and psychology change tremendously and they also have these emotional responses such as mood swings largely, low patience or week willpower and difficult concentration. At the same time, teenagers’ satisfaction for their own information behavior is high, unware of their information disorders. The society and academics don’t pay enough attention to the information poverty among teenagers.Through literature investigation method, this article finds out the general modes and characteristics of information behavior research, the current situation of teenager’s information behavior research and the information research in the perspective of information poverty. Furthermore, the article summarized the basic mode and characteristics of teenager’s information behavior in the perspective of information poverty and build up the model with systems analysis, logical reasoning and other methods. At last, investigate the tendentious of teenager’s information behavior by questionnaire, find out the defective parts of teenager’s information behavior and manifestation form of information poverty, analysis the rout cause of these problems.Teenagers’ information poverty is an urgent problem, and we need to face its objective existence. In order to improve this phenomenon, we need to focus on the training of teenagers’ information literacy and volition, strengthen supervision of network information, and carry out more information services for teenagers.
