Knowledge service is geared to the needs of users, to the user as the center, itsfundamental purpose is to solve the problem of users, to help users realize knowledgeapplication. Based on the user library to the survival and development, will play theknowledge to provide customers with value-added services.The theory research progress in recent years, the library knowledge service,achievement, but slightly less than knowledge service practice. This article by Chinageological library as an example, the research on library knowledge service perfectpath. First introduced the library knowledge service research status at home andabroad, this paper under the condition of knowledge economy and information age,new public service theory to guide practice, the necessity of library services. Next,together with the present situation of the development of China’s geological library,introduces the shortage of Chinese geological library knowledge service mainlydisplays in: knowledge service timeliness is not strong, the knowledge resourcesutilization rate is not high, insufficient knowledge resource deep processing and lackof features, lack of innovation knowledge service form. And further analyzes itsreason.Through in this paper, the Chinese geological library service developmentpresent situation, problems and countermeasures of the study found that the moderninformation technology under the condition of Chinese geological library serviceshould be more targeted, service mode, service contents, service scope, etc must be asthe library development strategy adjustment and, vigorously carry out knowledgeservice, further improve the library service efficiency and service efficiency.
