With the change of technology and environment, scientific activities are shifting toward the research paradigm based on data-intensive science. The new research paradigm pays more attention to the transformation of data, information, knowledge,as well as the openness and sharing of various resource services. Moreover, the development and progress of information technology make large-scale and interdisciplinary research activities possible.Correspondingly, the hierarchical dimensions of scientific research tasks are more complex, and scientific research activities also show the characteristics of collaboration.Scientific researchers need to use appropriate tools and methods to complete the processing and analysis of data information in order to finally obtain knowledge content and solve scientific problems. However,a series of new changes, such as the increase in the volume of research resources and the difficulty of technology application, have raised higher requirements for the scientific research users, which have also affected the research process in many aspects. In the face of the new scientific research environment, the needs and behaviors of users are constantly changing. At different stages of the scientific research process, users have different processing tasks,so the emphasis of demands is different, and the hierarchy, dynamics, diversity and other characteristics of user demands become more and more obvious.Scientific research users need innovative knowledge service to meet their own research needs in order to smoothly promote the process of knowledge innovation. The existing knowledge services are facing the impact of information overload, fragmentation and other problems, and there are deficiencies such as single service level and inflexible service mode.In the new research environment, the role of data is particularly prominent. On the one hand, the collection, processing, and analysis of data cannot be separated from the application of various software tools and program methods. On the other hand, scientific data management has also become an important part of scientific research activities. Therefore,it is necessary to expand and reform the contents and modes of traditional knowledge service according to the needs of users and the context of scientific research.Scientific research activity is an important way of knowledge innovation, and the assistance and support to scientific research process is the key content of knowledge innovation service. The development of service needs to be guided by the needs of users,so it is of great significance to summarize the needs and behaviors of users in the whole scientific research process.Based on the needs analysis,in order to enhance the comprehensiveness and pertinence of knowledge innovation service,a full-cycle service model can be established around the whole scientific research process to achieve the purpose of effectively supporting scientific research activities and improving the efficiency of knowledge innovation. This paper mainly studies the demand and mode of knowledge innovation service for scientific research users. On the basis of literature review, the theoretical basis of service demand of scientific research users is analyzed first, including the description of the scientific research life cycle model and the construction of the theoretical influencing factors model of service demand. On the basis of relevant theories, the empirical research was conducted through questionnaires, and the needs and behaviors of scientific research users at different stages of the life cycle were summarized. The difference analysis was carried out according to the characteristics of the population, and the theoretical model was tested by structural equations. The results show that prior context, cognitive context, task context, product context, and environmental context have significant positive effects on the knowledge innovation service needs of scientific research users. And the relational context and prior context have significant positive effects on cognitive context. Finally, guided by the demand contents of scientific research users, the corresponding knowledge innovation service mode is constructed, and the service subject, service object, service content, service mode and other elements in the mode are explained to provide reference for the development and practice of knowledge innovation service.
