Design And Implementation Of Campus Network Management System Of Tianjin Land College

As the rapid development of modern network, increasingly number of online devices and application services are used in network, which comes up with higher requirements for traditional network management, especially campus network. Therefore, how to realize the effective monitoring of all kinds of network equipments and resources, how to make the network safer and more reliable for users and timely find out the network failures and ensure the high efficient operation of network are issues that deserve a in-depth study. Therefore, the idea of building up a campus network management system that uses Web technology was proposed to solve the above problems effectively.Because of the demand for campus network management, a campus network management system based on SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) was designed. Firstly, the research background and current development status of campus network management were introduced. The relevant technology and theory were narrated and the general model structure principles and applications of SNMP were analyzed specifically. Besides, the key implemented technology in the paper was stressed systematically. Secondly, three layers of independent systematic frameworks, the front end user layer, business logic layer and data persistence layer were used in the demand analysis and general design of campus network management system. Meanwhile, the entire system was divided into four modules, including configuration management module, fault management module, performance management module and alarm management module, and the data structure of the system was defined. Thirdly, four function modules were implemented in the SNMP based network management, respectively are network configuration management, fault management, performance management and alarm management. This is a web-based system that could realize the real-time query, management, monitoring, maintenance and reporting of the network and system, which is a new type of network management module.Lastly, an application test was implemented to test the topology management, interface management, network status and flow management and other functions of the network equipment in the system. The test result shows all functions can be operated normally and the system operation won’t have any negative effect on the normal use of the campus network. Therefore, the purposes for making it easier for administrators to improve the working efficiency and ensure the safety of campus network through the application of information-based system to manage the campus network were achieved.
