Design And Implementation Of The SNMP Module Of Wire And Wireless Integrated Switch Element Management System

In order to simplify the network management and make the network stable, Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) was put forward by IETF.This paper made a study on the design and implementation of the SNMP module of wire and wireless integrated switch element management system. It includes the following aspects: This paper described the related technology of network management, Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), Management Information Base(MIB). Through analyzing the structure of Network Management System and Element Management System, this paper introduced SNMP design proposal and architecture which is suitable for this product, and researched some key technology of design and implementation such as MIB and implementation of agent. Based on the characteristics analysis of switch,this paper found the method of master agent pluses subagent design. In the implementation, data acquisition was optimized, so that operational efficiency and stability of the module was improved. After functional testing and performance testing for implementation module, results and analysis were given.Using the SNMP module, network manager can control network status and make the network stable easily by using this module to upload messages to network management system timely and accurately.
