As the main light source in the laser processing industry, the fast axial flow (FAF) CO2laser has some advantages in terms of beam quality, costs, and the stability when the laserruns continuously for a long time. With the development of the laser processing industry, it isexpected that the laser develops towards intelligent and humanized in human-computerinteraction. In this case, a monitoring system based on Bluetooth and PLC is proposed torealize the wireless intelligent control of the FAF CO2laser. The work mainly includes thefollowing aspects: choosing the plan of the laser motoring system, design of the software andhardware, the communication between the Bluetooth terminal and the PLC.First of all, a plan about the wireless monitoring system is proposed according to theCO2laser’s structure, operating principle, structure of the PLC control system and theprinciple of Bluetooth communication. In this system, the key parameters will be fed back tothe Bluetooth terminal in form of SNP-X protocol. With this design, the monitoring costswill be reduced and the wireless monitoring system will be realized.Secondly, the software and hardware of the FAF CO2laser motoring system is designedin this paper. Making full use of the Java open-source, a monitoring system based onAndroid system is developed with Eclipse, as the UI and the communication between themobile and the Bluetooth module. As for the hardware, the CSR Bluetooth chip and itsperipheral circuits have been designed and the interface difference has been solved.Finally, the Bluetooth module has been debugged through serial debugging assistant. Inorder to insure the practicality of the system, some experiments have been done, such as thecommunication between Bluetooth module and the mobile, the communication between theBluetooth module and PLC. In this case, the Bluetooth module should be connected withPLC and a virtual serial port should be created in the mobile.Monitoring the FAF CO2laser with Bluetooth terminal has been realized in this paper.And its operation is very easy. What’s more, several laser can be monitored by one person atthe same time. It helps to improve the efficiency and save manpower.
