The high power fast axial flow CO2laser has complex structures and many units, anddemand each unit orderly working. However, the monitoring equipment of the laser is lowerefficiency and poor real time, and the maintenance cost of the laser is still enormous recently.the fast axial flow CO2laser remote monitoring system based on GSM short message andPLC has studied in this thesis, which can be used to monitor the working condition of thelaser effectively and remotely control the real time work of the laser by mobile phone. Thesystem will be useful for the state control, system maintenance, improving efficiency, savinghuman resource, the intelligence and facilitation of the laser.Firstly, the remote monitoring system on the basis of GSM short message and PLC arepresented in this thesis, which includes based structure, working principle, failure causes ofthe fast axial flow CO2laser and the principle of short message service. When the laserproduces a fault instruction, PLC will send the operating parameters to the operator real time,and the operator also controls the laser by sending control instruction.Secondly, the remote monitoring system is composed of the hardware and softwareterms. The power circuits, data input/output circuitry, control lines and the SIM cardcircuitry of the GSM chip GTM900C have been designed. And the interface difference hasbeen solved by VOTEK’s UT218. The design of the PLC program includes initializationprogram, sending data and the interrupt program of sending completion, receiving data andthe interrupt program of receiving completion. The initial setup of GSM module makes themodule send information to the serial port at the arrival of new messages.Finally, the program of GSM module and PLC has been debugged through serialdebugging assistant. In the case of ensuring that program meets the design requirements, theexperiment of PLC connecting with GSM module has been done. The results show that PLCcan control the GSM module to send short message. It indicates that the system can meet therequirements of the design.
