With the popularization and application of laser processing technology in recent years,the development of laser technology is getting more and more attention by the industry.The traditional fast axial flow CO2 laser has got quite a shock in the market for the appearing of new laser,such fiber laser and so on.The main reason is that under the same power,the fast axial flow CO2 laser is much bigger than fiber laser,and this make a big effect on working room and the flexibility of machining.While the wave length of fast axial flow CO2 laser is much longer than that of fiber laser,which the beam quality is better and can be used in metallic material and organic materials cutting process,at the same time processing range of fast axial flow CO2 laser is relatively wide,and processing costs are low,then the study of fast axial flow CO2 laser miniaturization is of great significance.This article is based on the actual project study in enterprise.The key technology of1500 W fast axial flow CO2 laser miniaturization design was studied and the flow field analysis and experimental verification of the core parts discharge tube were carried out.Further experiments have been carried out to verify of laser beam quality,etc.First,this paper introduces the working principle and structure of fast axial flow CO2 laser.On this basis,the basic laser internal components and installation structure of fast axial flow CO2 laser has be determined to decrease the size of the whole machine.Secondly,the key technology of fast axial flow CO2 laser miniaturization is Introduced.The discharge tube after retrofitting is determined.On the basis,the structure of the optical resonator design is determined.Further,the fan type and model number has been selected.The main influence factors in the process of miniaturization is resolved.Thirdly,on the basis of the above,theory analysis of working conditions after laser assembly has been made.Using theoretical calculation and ANSYS FLUENT software,the theory analysis of the discharge tube flow field under the condition of actual work has been made,to provide theoretical reference for actual work condition.Finally,the effect of laser discharge has been detected,and compared with the resultson the flow field analysis.At the same time,laser beam quality were tested by comparing laser spot with the model,and gas tightness detection,etc.The test results match the theoretical preconception,which has laid a foundations for the laser further optimization.
