Superconducting magnetic energy storage system has broad application prospects in thepower grid. Superconducting magnetic energy storage system takes the advantage of zeroresistance at low temperature. Superconductor is sensitive to temperature and magnetic field.So the superconducting magnetic energy storage system needs a comprehensive dataacquisition system in order to ensure that the superconducting magnets to run in a normal state.The main work of this paper is to develop a data acquisition system for superconductingmagnetic energy storage system.First, determine the structure of the data acquisition system hardware. System hardwareincludes:cryogenic temperature sensors,platinum resistances and magnetic sensors,alsoincludes power supplies. Followed by the data acquisition equipments and industrial machines.Finally introduce the system of additional function-LED displays.In this paper,we use a virtual instrument design-LabVIEW graphical programmingsoftware platform to develope a data acquisition system for superconducting magnetic energystorage system. The whole system is divided into four parts:1.The main program for the function of the data acquisition instrument initialization,system settings,start running and stop running.2.The data processing program to convert the original voltage data to temperature andmagnetic field.3.The data display program. It displays temperature,voltage,current and magneticfield in a panel. It has a good user interface.4.The data saving program. It saves all of the measured signals in the Excel spreadsheetfor future analysis.After the completion of the data acquisition system. The system is also been tested. Thetest result shows that the system has high accuracy and reliability. It is easy to use and beenproved to be a successful data acquisition system.
