New theories and methods of test are proposed and new instruments are developed because of the rapid development of electronic technology and computer technology after1980s. Many aspects about new technology break the traditional concept of instrument, the function of the measuring instrument start to a qualitative change. Then as a result, virtual instruments come into being.Its test and control system is based on platform of computers’software and hardware, and the idea that software is equivalent of instrument is tend of future instrument development. Users can design dedicated instrument system for their own needs by using virtual instrument, and it can meet differences needs of changing the functions of instrument by modifying software.LabVIEW is the most common and the most representative software platform among virtual instrument languages. LabVIEW is based on G, uses the graphic programming method. With LabVIEW, people can design the software platform without the complex programming skills. It can be used for data acquisition, processing, analysis and storage.The operation is simple and the functions are powerful.The method of traditional railway signal analysis is that track circuit signal recorded by a tape recorder is analyzed through a spectrum analyzer. However the method is not convenient and is not easy to be transplanted and changed.Therefore, it is greatly meaningful to design data analysis system which is flexible, portable and has strong capacity of analytical processing and storage.The paper proposes researching and designing scheme based on data acquisition and analysis systems of virtual instrument.This paper firstly discusses the characteristics and principle of virtual instruments, then it elaborate on the idea of designing data acquisition system, and given the hardware design and software scheme respectively. The design of software is runned on NI’s LabVIEW2009. The programme of the system realized a number of functions including data acquisition, processing, analysis, shows and storage.The system can also realize signal filtering and FFT processing. After the analysis and processing, a report table can be generated to save important data, the interface is intuitive and friendly. Finally, based on the acquisition and analysis of measured data to validate the performance, prove the system’s reliability and availability.
