Research On Archives Preservation In Tianjin

Archives preservation is an importance part of archives affairs,it determines thesafety of archives.Archives preservation includes conservation technology andadministration. Conservation is the way that prevents damage or degradation,and thatenables archives to last as long as possible. Administration is the management oftechnology and technical personnel.Nowadays, archive types are not only paper-based file,but also picture,microfilm,tape, and CD/DVD. Preservation has new situation facing the emergence of digitaldocuments.Archivists have to respond to the challenges from the preservation of thetraditional files and new types.One solution is enhancing the administration ofconservation as technical reformation.After the review of developments of conservation technologies andpreservation theories both at home and abroad,and the survey of the the status ofarchives preservation in Tianjin, the author finds the shortages of archivesconservation, the scientific research on archives preservation and the archivespreservation education and training.Based on new archives preservation theories and the domestic and foreign experience,the thesis raises the suggestion for the improvement of archives preservation that assessingthe archives conservation with the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and the fuzzycomprehensive evaluation method.The result will guide the scientific research onarchives preservation, and the archives preservation education and training.
