Digital design systems need to continuously evolve to adapt to the dynamically change of design environmental of manufacturing product. But by the current digital technology for product, the design, analysis, manufacturing and assembly of product must use several different soft systems, it results in a lot of redundant information and low data consistency, and it is very difficult to achieve integration and reuse of product information. Therefore, in order to achieve integration and reuse of product information and provide serve for product life-cycle, it is urgent to set up a new model structure theory, which can promote the evolution of digital design systems of manufacturing product, and develop new digital design systems based on the advanced model structure.The research is based on‘Advanced Design Theory and Method of Engineering and Product’― Key Project of the National Natural Science Foundation(60635020). Firstly, based on analysing the characteristics of the product digital design system, the paper proves that the digital design system is a dissipative structure. The paper researches the degree of order and order parameter of product digital design systems, and builds evaluation system of product digital design systems. Based on dissipative structure theory and gray system theory, the paper establishes a distinguish model, which uses the gray relational entropy to describe the degree of order and direction of evolution of system.Secondly, on the basis of analysing the impact factors of evolution of product digital design systems, the‘A Model with Four Bodies’product information model (AMFB model) architecture, which encapsulates Basic Body, Retrieval Body, Control Body, and Intelligent Body, is presented. The paper sets up the Basic Body, Retrieve Body, and mainly researches the Control Body: control object of model, standard protocol of getting and expression of product information, the architecture of Control Body and the management of model non-geometric information. The Control Body integrates three external resources, achieves dynamic follow between information and model, and provides information "delivery" for the design process timely. And the paper introduces the theory of Intelligent Body easily.Thirdly, the architecture and the applied program framework of Open CASCADE platform are detailedly studied, and the paper makes the needs analysis, feasibility analysis and planning for the system. Based on Open CASCADE platform, a soft system named AMFSDI is developed successfully, which gets the Registration of Computer Software Copyright. AMFSDI system achieves many functions, such as: document management, entity modeling, model editing and display, information integration and data exchange.Finally, the AMFSDI system is applied in the design of stamping die of sheet metal, and the paper analyses the advantages of AMFSDI system. Through qualitative and quantitative analysis of the change of system entropy, it proves that the development of AMFB system is orderly, and the feasibility and superiority of AMFB system is verified.
