Material management, to a power generation company, is an important portion of daily management. Traditional material management is mostly done by hand, adopting paper document management method, which of inefficiency is bad for the control of management process and the flow and sharing of information. The development and application of information technology provides new ideas and methods to material management of power generation companies. The information construction of material management is an important part of that of power generation company, which plays a major role in improving the efficiency and standardization of material management. In this paper, combing the domestic and foreign present state of information construction of material management and the need of power generation company, the author proposes a set of information system construction plan of material management of power generation companies.In this paper, combing the domestic and foreign present state of information construction of material management and the need of power generation company, the author proposes a set of information system construction plan of material management of power generation companies. In view of the need of information construction of material management of power generation companies, the author analyzes and expounds the background, purpose, meaning and feasibility of the system design and application, summarizing the progress of relevant studies at home and abroad of this system. Based on this technology, comparing current relatively mature technical frame and development language, the system, which is designed and realized by Java in the basis of structured design thought, which is designed and realized by Java in the basis of structured design thought, adopts SSH as its main layered structure. When on the system demand analysis, on the basis of the power generation company material management work flow and the actual demand, using the use case diagram and use case specification to the function requirement analysis, system and system of a business process analysis and the analysis of security requirements. Papers on the system requirements analysis, design the layered architecture of the system with SSH framework, using the HIPO, business flow diagram and sequence diagram of system function module design in details, finally the system database concept structure and logic structure design. The design and implementation of the system, mainly for power generation company provides a scientific, effective and normative material management information platform. In a word, a detailed analysis and design is the base of realizing the corresponding function of the system. After being tested, deployed and applied at large, the system proves to be fully functional and have a stable framework, basically achieving the expectation. In practical application in daily material management of power generation company, the designed material management system is well received by all levels of users in power generation company who participated in the probation and testing of the system.
