Information literacy education is one of the main contents aim to improve their ability of information, and is becoming more and more prominent and important in contemporary talent cultivation mechanism. Introducing educational games to information literacy education, and enriching the traditional teaching mode, not only can provide new learning environment for learners, but also can arouse and maintain students’ interest in learning with entertainment atmosphere to harvest happy learning experience by themselves. Based on the basic theories of educational games, this paper explains the role, levels, types and main features of scaffolding tools within teaching activities, focus on forms and mechanisms of scaffolding tools suited to information literacy educational games, and takes cases for analysis with three specific educational games. Ultimately, we design and produce an information literacy educational game based on the book classification in the library. And we examine the effects of support studying with simple tests, so that it can lay a foundation for comprehensive application of scaffolding tools to in information literacy education games.The main content of this paper include:The first chapter is the introduction. It outlines the research background and significance of this article, explores theories of scaffolding and research status of educational games at home and abroad, and put forward existing problems to conduct the research of full text.The second chapter traces the theoretical basis of scaffolding from the theory "Constructivism","Zone of Proximal Development","Cognitive Development" and " Scaffolding", and unscrambles scaffolding tools based on these theories. And then, this chapter discusses the specific application of scaffolding in teaching activities to summarize its role, levels, types and main features. Finally, introduces the notion of education games and scaffolding forms within them, and takes case for analysis with two education games:"Periodista" and "EVOKE".The third chapter, firstly, studies the basic standard, content and features of information literacy education and analysis of the types of scaffolding in information literacy education. And then, researches the specific forms of scaffolding tools adapted to the information literacy educational games and summaries the corresponding relationship between scaffolding types and scaffolding forms. Finally, takes case for analysis with one education game:"Defense of Hidgeon".The fourth chapter, expounds how to design an information literacy educational game combining the teaching content and target. Firstly, it introduces the choice of tools in the development process. Then it designs the background story, roles and rules of the game. Finally, it focus on telling how to reflect its form, render its content and achieve its function concerning scaffolding in the game.The fifth chapter, the first test. To measure teaching effects of the game designed in the information literacy education, the respondents test the game and later carry out the interview, in order to find deficiencies and defects in the game designed. And then, accept effective suggestions to improve and perfect the game effects.The sixth chapter, the second test. Measuring teaching effects of the second game modified from the first one in the information literacy education, especially the effects of scaffolding. This chapter attempts to collect test data with game-playing and questionnaire methods, and analyzes test data by EXCEL and SPSS. At last, the empirical conclusion is given.The seventh chapter is the conclusion. This chapter expounds the deficiencies of the paper and put forward the next step work.
