Based on migrant workers to improve self knowledge and professional skills, thisarticle studys migrant worker in Beijing City and tries to reveal their "paper reading" and"screen reading" status. When we find the reason why they do no read, we can putforward the feasible to further promote this group for the purpose of readingsuggestions. First of all, the research take200scattered all over Beijing site constructionworkers as samples, and then analyses their basic data, contact with the mass media, thepaper reading, reading content tendency, mobile phone and mobile phone ownership anduse of the present reading situation. Moreover, the study also shows that there’re inherentcorrelations between the reading status and age, their education level, mobile phone typeand many other factors. By the analysis of the scientific system of data SPSS statisticssoftware, we finally get the relevant data. Furthermore, considering the limitation and thesimplicity of this survey, we also made the free newspaper named "migrant workers",which shows us more data to reveal the relationship between the reading habit, site andenvironment etc. In depth interview, research data has been further added.Based on the research results, this article gives some advices from aspects ofgovernment, employer and publishing industry and social organization. Hope that anumber of departments can work together to maximize meet migrant workers group inBeijing city construction industry demand for culture. Migrant workers group in Beijing cityconstruction industry is the first target, then the other migrant workers, so as to achievethe ultimate goal of the national reading.
