The Media Use Of Migrant Workers In Beijing Construction Industry

This paper mainly examines the media use of migrant workers in Beijing construction industry. The research questions include: what are the type and channels of media use in Beijing construction industry. Medium in which this study refers to television, newspapers, magazines, books, radio, Internet, and mobile phones. Their media exposure, include the time, place, environment and frequency of media use. What is the effect of media in their life?The research method in this paper is questionnaire survey. Using questionnaire survey collect the media use data of migrant worker in Beijing construction industry, a total of 104 valid questionnaires were collected.The mainly conclusion of this paper is: 1.cellphone is important for migrant workers in Beijing construction industry. It is not only a communications medium, but also an alternative media of traditional mass media. 2. More migrant workers use the media as an entertainment tool, when facing the issue of looking for work, the effect of social relation is better than medium.3.Social relation can not solve labor disputes, and the effect of medium is also limited, But this is because the existing media content can not meet the information needs of migrant workers, rather than say that the medium as a tool of transmit information is no use...
