Biochemical analyzer plays an important role in health care. Doctors evaluateand judgepatients’ condition depending on the test results of biochemical analyzer. Biochemicalanalyzerdevelops towards two directions, one of which is automatic biochemical analyzerwith the function of efficiency and speediness. Because of its high price, it only applies tolarge medical institutions.In comparison, small medical institutions have smaller patientpopulations, can’t afford the cost of expensive medical equipment.But small medicalinstitutions should have the capability of test, at this time; the semi-automatic biochemicalanalyzer with lower price is more suitable than automatic biochemical analyzer. Based on thisbackground, this article made new and detailed design for semi-automatic biochemicalanalyzer, offering more choices for small medical institutions.The fundamental of biochemical analyzer is based on Lambert-Beer Law. This paperstarted with the fundamental of biochemical analyzer and the measuring methods ofbiochemical analysis were introduced, including end-point method, dynamic method,multi-criteria method, absorptiometry and two points’rate method. At the same time, the basicframework of semi-automatic biochemical analyzer was determined according to theprinciple.The hardware design and functional requirements of semi-automatic biochemicalanalyzer were analyzed in detail. And the whole system was divided into some individualindependent systems according to their own functions, including optical system, temperaturecontrol system, fluid system, photometer electronic system and human-computer interactivesystem. Every system had its own functions, the selected devices and equipments wereanalyzed in detail at the design time of system to ensure the availability and price rationalityof the final system hardware.The software design of semi-automatic biochemical analyzer is based on the modulethought. In the article, we design every function as a single module, and then makeindependentsoftware programming design to the module. First, confirm the softwarestructureaccording to the demand. Then design every module, including data acquisitionmodule, data memory module,temperature control module, light path module, LCD displaymodule, data processing module and GUI module according to the function. After the final experimental stage, we demonstrated the process that user operatesthissystem, describerelevant interface. Finally the experimental process and experimental resultsof testing GPTare given. The Experiment Result indicates that the system enjoys thecharacteristics of quick test and high accuracy.
