With the rapid development of microelectronics technology, computer technology and communication technology, the level of information technology in all industries has been significantly improved. Real time data acquisition, processing and high-speed data transmission have become one of the most critical element in various fields. In a distributed wireless network, every data-collecting site needs to collect real-time data and transmit to the control site, where it needs a control terminal to complete the work of data aggregation, data switching and data processing. In this context, this thesis designs an embedded wireless communication control terminal based on PowerPC architecture, major work includes overall hardware system design, system debugging and U-Boot transplanting.According to system requirements, this thesis elaborated on the system architecture, system design and technical principles. System designning is built on P2020E which is microprocessor brought by Freescale QorIQ communication platform series. Based on P2020E basic system, this thesis add multiple kinds of memory module(1GB DDR3SDRAM,64MB NOR Flash,1GB NAND Flash), network switching module which includes510/100/1000Mbps Ethernet ports, two serial communication ports, power module and debugging module. Above all, this thesis completes the hardware design of wireless communication control unit.Based on the consideration of power integrity, signal integrity and electromagnetic compatibility, this thesis deals with serveral key issues in PCB design. Such as circuit board layering, circuit board layout, circuit board wiring, power and ground plane processing. Especially, this thesis uses some special techniques to deal with the high-speed and high frequency characteristics of DDR3and ethernet signal to ensure performance of the system.This thesis also completes hardware system debugging and U-Boot transplanting. Major work include the establishment of debugging environment, CPU starting up and reset controlling, DDR3testing with debugging tool Codewarrior USB TAP. According to the characteristics of the system, this thesis modifies the source code of U-Boot and flashes it into the system. This control terminal can autoboot after powerup, and we test serial interface, Flash and Ethernet interface in U-Boot.Hardware tests prove that the hardware system designed by this thesis can work properly and the system provides the basic platform for application software.
