Design Of PXI Express Controller Based On PowerPC

Based on studying of PXI Express specification and embedded controller, aembedded controller of the PXI Express bus is developed in this paper.As a core part of the integrated test system, the performance of the embeddedcontroller directly determines the level of performance of the integrated test system,especially in the high-performance, high-speed integrated test system of PXIExpress bus. In order to give full play to the advantage of the PXI Express bus, theoverall program performance MPC8536processor based on PowerPC (the PC thePerformance Optimization With Enhanced RISC) architecture is taken as the core,optimizing various peripheral modules to develop the high-performance PXIExpress embedded controller.This article then details the design of the computer general-purpose peripheralinterface and the PXI Express bus interface. Which focuses on the FPGA logicdesign of the VGA display controller program, which uses the Qsys design processbased on-chip network architecture.In the software design section of the subject, the embedded PXI Express buscontroller start-up process, as well as the U-Boot source code is analyzed tocomplete the U-Boot transplantation, and after the analysis of the method steps ofthe Linux system migration, the U-boot is used to boot embedded Linux systems forcompleting the transplant of the Linux system.Then a driver for PXI Express busperipheral modules based on the Linux operating system is developed.Finally, a test of general-purpose computer interface is completed and the webserver-based testing program is took to test the function of the embedded controllermodules in the integrated test system accessing and controlling the peripheralmodules. The test results show that the PXI Express embedded controller can workwell the integrated test system and there is a certain reference value for developing aPXI Express embedded controllers based on the PowerPC.
