Since the global economic recession caused by the U.S. subprime crisis in2008,the construction of broadband networks has been an important measure for theeconomic rejuvenation of each country. To keep up with the tread of globaldevelopment, China will enhance the strategy of BDChina to a national level andcarry out various policies to promote the construction of broadband infrastructure.In the construction of the next generation information infrastructure, the xPONtechnology has been the main application of the all optical network. The maincontents of this research is the engineering planning, design and practice based on thexPON technology during the process of reform towards the access network offiber-instead-cable operation in Gi’an CTT. This paper analyses and compares thecomposition of the PON and two main technologies, puts forward the plan about theaccess network of fibre broadband as well as deeply discuss the networking design ofvarious FTTx. What’s more, it is innovative at that time to share the resource ofmobile optical network, which can be applied to the engineering practice. Thisresearch provides the companies with powerful support in the expansion ofdifferential market, linking to the real construction of optical network engineering ofGi’an CTT. It can be said that it has advantage in improving the quality of networkoperation, meeting the business requirements and reducing the business cost.Moreover, it lays a good foundation for the companies to adapt to the transformationof products and work together with China Mobile to do a good job in the overalloperation.
