With the development of TD-SCDMA mobile telecommunications technology,the keytechnology smoothly resolved.TD-SCDMA terminal equipment such as base stations and wirelesscontroller business,in order to improve the system capacity,base stations to expand coverage toensure that the quality of signal transmission network planning is becoming increasingly important.As for the future of TD-SCDMA network operators.How cost-effective to build a TD-SCDMA cellnet,is a guarantee of high quality and low cost network operators are coneerned about. Networkplanning purposes,generally speaking,it is in support of a variety of multimedia services andQoS to meet certain conditions,have a good network capacity to meet certain requirements ofwireless coverage,by adjusting capacity,coverage,links between the balance between providingthe best quality of service. As for the future of the TD-SCDMA network operators,due to adoptTD-SCDMA is the only ITU support TDM (TDD),CDMA (CDMA) system.Both WCDMA andcdma2000and frequeney division multiplexing (FDD) technology compared to the CDMAsystem than using the time division multiplexing,multi-user detection uplink,uplink timesynchronization and advanced smart antenna technology.TD-SCDMA network makes moreflexible and complex.FDD traditional2G and3G CDMA systems use planning methods can notmeet the demand.TD-SCDMA system must step in the planning for deep study TD-SCDMAconforms to the characteristies of the new plan.Firstly,this paper introduces the history of the development of mobile communicationssystems,, and then analysis of the composition,and characteristics of the third generation mobilecommunication technology such as WCDMA and cdma2000.In the following, it analyzescharacteristics of TD-SCDMA technology and the characteristics of its network planning. Next,adetailed discussion of the core issues: the basic parameters of network design, link budget, coveringplanning, capacity planning and so on. Through these discussions, it comes to the basic method ofTD-SCDMA network planning. Finally, combined with the example of Xuzhou, Jiangsu mobileTD-SCDMA network planning, the results show that the network planning meets the basicrequirements including the coverage indicators and network performance, and also gives a numberof inadequacies and the network evolution methods in the following.
