According to statistics, the power consumption caused by corona phenomenonexceeds2.1billion kW.h every year, is the main reason of energy waste. What smore, the glow discharge of corona will disturb the communication facilities nearby,which will affect the quality of communication. Serious corona phenomenon evencould cause fire and other accidents, which will cause immeasurable loss. Detectingthe corona phenomenon accurate and timely, and takeing corresponding measureswould reduce the loss effectively.Therefor, this paper constructs a video detection system about coronaphenomenon based on the framework of FPGA+DSP, and is responsible for thedesign of multi-channel video capture and preprocessing system based on FPGA.First, designing the the whole structure of the system according the demand. Next,completing the design of hardware platform according the structure. Then analysingthe timing of video signal and designing the IP core about video capture, videodisplay and IIC controller, and configuring the DDR2, DMA and SRIO. By doing sothe functions of video capture, display, storage and transmission will be realized.After that, designing a high speed centroid extraction algorithm, which could be usedas an IP core in the system. This IP cores could be controlled by microblaze throughPLB, thus the whole system is shaped. And the result of bord test and simulationindicate that the system is feasible. The innovation of this paper lies in that the algorithm of centroid extraction wasrealized with fewer resources and higher speed then common FPGA algorithm.What s more, multichannel video capture and preprocessing system suit for mostsituation about video processing, has a huge practical value.
