With the development of information and intelligence,intelligent video surveillance system has become a research focus,which motion detection and tracking algorithm and the realization of video processing speed has always been the difficulty of system implementation,following another video of compression coding for transmission and storage is also very important.This design uses the FPGA platform,with its parallel processing mechanism and powerful computing power to improve the processing speed and performance of the system.Through access to a large number of relevant domestic and foreign literature periodicals,at present embedded system most using software realize motion detection and tracking algorithm,the hardware platform for the realization of most of them can't meet real-time monitoring and playback of stored demand at present.Therefore,this thesis puts forward a kind of based on FPGA in video surveillance and tracking system design and implementation,using parallel hardware implementation of each part,the processing speed has been greatly improved and better meet the requirements of the system.In this thesis,the hardware platform and the software system of the video surveillance and tracking system are built,and the system is divided into the design and implementation of the system..Through the D5M camera to capture video images into RGB format cache in SDRAM,the realization of video acquisition;through the gray transform,an improved median filtering algorithm,morphological filtering and proposed an improved background difference method for moving object region,realize motion detection and tracking of targets using an improved centroid tracking method RGB;image detection and tracking the processed MJPEG video coding,using the designed MAC than unit will combine the core module of DCT transform and quantization,improve the coding efficiency,the final package into AVI video streaming,video coding;call the SD card controller IP core,real-time storage of video stream to achieve real-time display;motion detection and tracking results through the VGA display.At the same time,the NIOS II soft core processor as the control core,to achieve the above inter module scheduling.Finally,the whole system is verified on the VEEK multimedia development platform of Terasic company.The qsys test system is built,through a variety of testing,the system processing 320*240 size RGB image speed of 30 frames/sec,realize the real-time moving object monitoring and tracking,correct rate reached more than 90%;design of MJPEG video encoder IP core,at 20m frequency,the RGB image were MJPEG video coding,but coherent play video generation,at a resolution of 320 x 240 frame rate is 30 frames per second,at a resolution of 640*480 frame rate of 15 frames per second and the AVI format video real-time stored in the SD card.The system achieves the expected function,has good real-time and accuracy,and has good portability and progress space,and has a wide range of application prospect.
