With the State Grid Corporation carry out related work of building a strong intelligence network, Smart grid electricity demand with a gradual increase in information exchange links. Intelligent electricity distribution network in coverage, complex operating environment, security, stability, real-time and other aspects all have a high demand. Optical distribution network and the devices are important part in intelligent electricity distribution xPON network, which carrying the entire intelligent optical access network with basic electricity and the key of smart power grid strong and intelligent network.However, due to the optical distribution network of long-term passive optical devices placed outdoors, which made itself vulnerable to the impact of the external environment and the occurrence of unexpected failures, such as the connector is damaged, fiber bending and fiber breakage, etc.If not promptly detect and diagnose faults, not only will cause electrical communication interruption, resulting in significant economic losses, but also increase the difficulty of maintenance personnel to unnecessary trouble. The traditional way of measuring instrument and maintenance based on point to point transmission of light can not be fully applicable to the non-network, and the currently available optical distribution network fault location techniques to pursue fault localization precision relies to increase the cost of implementation costs, lower implementation costs in precision positioning technology can not meet the requirements of engineering and maintenance personnel, engineering and maintenance personnel still need to rely on their subjective experiences to judge the fault position. Positioning accuracy and implementation costs faced difficult problem of co-existence, considering the technical maturity, construction costs, and the difficulty of locating the premise implementation effectiveness and other aspects of communication networks based on intelligent electricity distribution network management system, this topic designed with an intelligent optical power distribution network fault location system.This paper first analyzes and studies the current optical distribution network fault location techniques on intelligent optical distribution network in smart grid and find their shortcomings, for which the paper designed a fault location algorithm in ODN based on physical topology division. The algorithm foucing on the physical level, topology dividing the ODN network, and fault locating the sub-tree in ODN network, eventually find the actual point of fault.On the basis of integrated communications network management system for the intelligent electricity distribution network, this paper embedded the fault location algorithm in ODN based on physical topology division, by implementing the physical topology information management module and fault localization module implements the optical distribution network fault location system, which improves the original technical fault location accuracy for management and maintenance personnel to provide a reliable fault location information to improve relevance and effectiveness of their work.
