As two important component of Smart Grid, Smart Distribution Grid (SDG) and Smart Utilization Grid (SUG) are becoming the research focuses currently. The Smart Grid can not live without an immature, secure, reliable, well established Communication Network. As many management problems existing for the power distribution and utilization communication network (such as a variety of access technology hybrid application), so we need to research how to manage it firstly. Presently management information model is adopted as the basis of network management function, so we should construct the management information models for the power distribution and utilization communication network to support integrated management. Among many access technologies, wireless broadband access and fiber access are two popular technologies. Under current situation, wireless broadband access network is based on TD-LTE and the fiber access system is based on EPON. Due to the special network structure and the network manage requirements, in this paper, we will build network management information model for the power distribution and utilization communication network for smart grid. The paper firstly introduces the network architecture and service requirements for communication networks of SDG and SUG. Then we research the network management information model and interface technologies, and analyze the necessity for network management. Secondly, we construct network management information models for wireless broadband access network and the fiber access system respectively. The paper divides each modeling process into four parts:(1) research of network management requirements. This part nails down the management scope of the network and analyzes the management requirements of each managed object.(2) Information modeling for configuration management. This part defines the necessary network information object classes, their attributes and the relationships among them, so as to provide support for configuration management.(3) Information Modeling for Performance Management. This part defines appropriate performance measurement information for the network, so as to provide support for performance management.(4) Implementation of the Network Management Information Model. This part describes the network management information model using CORBA and TL1.
