Farmland information detection and intelligent information technology is an important indicator of the level of agricultural modernization. Wireless sensor network technology is an important means of farmland information detection, which can effectively solve the traditional detection system wiring difficulties, high costs, detect inaccuracies and other problems. For the defects of traditional wired and wireless detection system, this paper presents a detection solution of farmland information, combined ZigBee short-range wireless communication technology, GSM remote wireless communication technology, and application-centric embedded technology. The purpose is to improve the level of modern agricultural detection technology, to ensure the information accurately detect and reliable transmission, providing a scientific basis for agricultural production activities.The content of this paper are as follows:(1) Analysis of wireless sensor network at home and abroad and the development trend. According to the project requirement, the overall design scheme of the system is proposed in this paper, based on ZigBee short-range wireless communication technology, GSM remote wireless communication technology, and embedded technology.(2) For functional requirements of farmland information detection system, this paper researched and designed the collection network based on ZigBee technology as the core, and realized the local data display and storage. Moreover, for remote data detection GSM module extended, by the conversion between protocol data.(3) The hardware system design of wireless sensor network node, including the selection of sensors, the node structure design.(4) Software workflow of different types of network nodes designed to achieve the system functions, including data collection, transmission in ZigBee network, local display and storage on PC, remote transmission.(5) A wireless sensor network design method have been proposed based on ZigBee technology for temperature and light intensity detection in this paper, using CC2430and Z-Stack protocol stack as the platform. Meanwhile, detected data can be remote transmission using the GSM network by the conversion between protocol data. The system is applied to a real farm environment to run test, and the test results were analyzed and summarized. Experimental results show that the design is feasible, the good working of each node, can be successfully realized local and remote data detection.The farmland information detection system combined with ZigBee technology, GSM technology and embedded technology is put forward. It not only low cost, low power consumption, flexible layout, accurate data, but also the collection network structure can be configured according to the different needs of different farmland shape, and is suitable for popularization and application in agriculture detection.
