The business of large enterprises is often distributed in all parts of the country, and many servers are hosted in the IDC rooms in different areas to ensure the backup of data and enhance the speed of the access to the servers. What’s more, the customers usually need to visit and change the data of the server in one IDC room and then the changes require efficient and reliable transmission from this server to the servers in other IDC rooms, in order to make the other servers share the data in different places. However, the load, bandwidth and packet loss rates of the links could affect the validity and reliability of the data transmission between servers. Recent years the number of IDC rooms and the business volume are increasingly growing, and the network system consisting of IDC rooms is becoming larger and larger. In addition, the data stored in the server of the IDC rooms needs effective and reliable transmission. Thus, how to ensure the efficient and reliable transmission of data between the servers of the IDC rooms is becoming an important challenge for the IDC service providers. For this problem, a distributed router management systems is designed and implemented in this thesis. This system can calculate the network link quality weights and get the shortest path from the server in one IDC room to the servers in other IDC rooms, and compared with other paths, this overall quality of the link is the best. What’s more, the transmission of the data flow between the server in one IDC room and the others is controlled effectively, in order to complete the data transmission at the smallest cost. Then the specific work in this thesis is presented as follows.1) The data packets need be transmitted in real-time from one IDC room to the others, then the shortest path is got by the shortest path algorithm, ensuring the validity of data transmission.2) In order to prevent from the hacking attack in the login process, the one-time password authentication technology, authentication mechanism and encryption algorithm are introduced for the user security authentication, making the password different every time and ensuring the safety in the login process.3) The dynamic routing will change the routing table, making the router notice the change to the network and cause the network jitter, thus the telnet-based script and the strategic routing forwarding method are used to send the shortest path information down to the routers, which could change the routing configuration of the routers to avoid changing the router table and reduce the impact on the network. The test results show that the distributed router management system can quickly get the shortest path between one IDC room and other IDC rooms, and configure the routers according the shortest path. What’s more, the management system could secure the login process via the web interface. Then the effectiveness of these functions about security authentication, routing optimization, configuration management and the user interface is verified.
