Radio frequency identification technology is an automatic&non-contact identificationtechnique, target automatically identify the object by radio frequency signal, which can soonbe tracked and exchange data. The RFID is divided into the low frequency, highfrequency, ultra high frequency. While the UHF RFID tag has the advantages of smallsize, long-distance reading and writing, fast read and write, it has been more and more widelyused and are also considered to be the typical and most promising application in field ofInternet of things. The design of digital processing unit about UHF RFID chip is based on theEPCglobal C1G1standard. First of all the radio frequency identification technology isintroduced, including the classification of different tag based on the standard, developmentstatus at home and abroad, features which is superior to other identification systems, issuesfacing the development of RFID, and restricted factors.Next, EPCglobal C1G1standard to bemade a detailed analysis and introduction, and a low-power design idea is proposed. For thesafety of RFID systems, authentication protocol scheme to solve the RFID system cost andsafety issues is proposed based on physical unclonable functions (PUF) and linear feedbackshift system (LFSR). Finally, tag chip architecture is designed based on EPCglobal C1G1UHF RFID standard. Digital processing unit has been divided into many modules, and thefunction of each module is listed. Clock generation module, CRC checksum module, PIEdecoding module and FM0/Miller module are introduced detailly and emphasized in the paper. All modules are implemented with Verilog HDL, synthesized with Synopsys’ DesignCompiler, timing analysis with Prime Time, power analysis with PrimePower, placement androuting with IC Complier.
