RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) technology was invented in the 1940 s,after quite a long time of development,it began to rise in the 1990 s.As a kind of automatic identification technology,it has been viewed as the most creative and promising information technology in the 21 st century.In recent years,with the development of information society,the importance of RFID technology is ever increasing.UHF(Ultra High Frequency)RFID technology,as one of them,thanks to its working frequency band,with the advantages of high-speed transmission,long-distance and more targets recognition,has become a hot research topic worldwide.It can be expected that it will become an important part of the information society in the future.The design of the traditional system of ASIC chip,need a long development cycle and a high development cost,with the continuous development of microelectronics technology,the advancement of semiconductor process and the impact brought by the market and demand,the traditional design process has been difficult to keep up with the pace.As a result,based on the IP(Intellectual Property)core of SoC(System on Chip)design method has gradually become popular.SoC technology can effectively integrate multiple IP cores,realize complex systems,reduce the power consumption and area better.It also can speed up the product development cycle,reduce the cost.Nowadays it becomes one of the important directions of the integrated circuit design.This thesis designed the digital baseband modules of the UHF RFID system complying ISO/IEC 18000-6C protocol.In this work,the design goals have been achieved by using SoC design methods,dividing the system into hardware and software modules,and made usage of the hardware and software collaborative design method.Using open source IP core MC8051 processor,with the Verilog language to design UHF RFID baseband communication modules,and through the WISHBONE bus protocol to connect MC8051 with baseband communication modules,the physical layer of the protocol has been realized through the hardware design of the system.And with the tag-identification layer implemented by the software algorithm in the MC8051,the reader and tag baseband communication has been achieved,and has been validated through simulation.
