Talents are precious national and social resources, and colleges and universities arecradle of young talents. The employment ability of college and university graduates plays aparticularly major role in social development. According to the state official statistics, thenumber of graduated college and university students in2014will reach7.27million, thehighest since the founding of China. In front of escalating number of graduated students andhard work on employment, the conventional manual methods in statistics and corporateemployment model have become unable to satisfy the market demand in employment.Therefore, it becomes necessary to develop digitized employment by paperless office andinformation system. It will be highly helpful to effectively manage employment of students,closely cooperate with enterprises, and promote active employment of students and to build abridge among students, universities and enterprises as well by applying informationtechnology to employment management.Based on historical record in previous enrollment and faculty situation of ShenyangInstitute of Engineering (SIE) as well as the practical work of employment of college students,this paper designs and develops an Employment Management System by analysis andgeneralization on the foundation of conventional employment management system. It isspecifically designed and developed for SIE and is applicable to student employment and thedemand of corporate human resources development. As employment management system incolleges and universities is complex in functions and involves many roles, for simplicity ofsystem development and maintenance, the system shall be divided into four sub-systems:Corporate Management Subsystem, Student Management Subsystem, Teacher ManagementSubsystem, and System Management Subsystem. After analyzing the practical need of SIE,the system shall, based on B/S model, use programming languages, such as HTML, ASP,JavaScript as well as popular Oracle database technology to design functional modules ingraduated students management, corporate management and employment information.The main work in relation to this paper is illustrated as follows: first, make investigationon the development of employment management system, propose existed problems in employment management, and clarify the framework and main thoughts. Next, study thetechnology for developing Employment Management System and make thorough analysis onthe system. Then, use B/S network model and ASP program technology to designEmployment Management System, make tests on functions, and finally make conclusions andforecast.SIE Employment Management System is designed and realized based on the studentemployment information, corporate recruitment information and employment agreement andconnects many roles concerned in employment and realized effective cooperationmanagement in employment work. It effectively guarantees the accuracy of employment,timeliness of statistical data, and convenience for enterprises and students to consult data,which will greatly improve the work efficiency for employment.
