Research Of Embedded High-definition Compression And Playback Technology

Video data storage and playback technology are widely used in military and people’s life. In recent years, the high resolution image processing is the hot spot of embedded video technology. Because of the limitation of resources, the embedded platform is still has no ability to process real-time HD video. This paper focus on the problems above, using TI company’s TMS320DM8168digital video processor to design a set of embedded HD video compression and playback system. The following aspects are mainly discussed:1. According to the demands, the author has carried on the system hardware design. Hardware mainly includes four parts:video acquisition, video compression, video storage and video broadcast.2. Building a standard embedded development platform, including the Linux kernel, the Linux file system, video driver and the acquisition program design, etc., the superiority of the video compression algorithm is verified.3. Combined with the characteristics of the scheme, We put forward a video storage and playback strategies, the strategy can be in the management of massive video data. At the same time, it can relieve the system resources consumption.4. The friendly human-computer interaction interface is designed.Sum up the content mentioned above, we use the TMS320DM8168processor to build a real-time full high definition video compression, storage, playback system. The system adopts the h.264compression algorithm and the video is stored in hard disk. Combining the above video algorithm, we design the storage strategy and play strategy. The Storage playback strategy can ensure the video continuity, at the same time it can on improve the timing of the multimedia file search speed, ease the CPU working pressure, improve its efficiency. The management solution will be reflects the unique advantages with the constant improvement of the video resolution and the rapid increase of amount of data.
