We can’t separate excitation system from running synchronous generator, to improvetimeliness and stability of the generator excitation system and the entire power systemplays an important role. Excitation system generally includes excitation regulator unit,excitation and de-excitation power unit cabinet unit, each unit in the placement of the plantsometimes a few hundred meters away, the communication speed between the units will begreatly reduced due to the distance increases, the quality of communication also be affected.This paper presents the generator excitation system used in fiber-optic communicationsdesign ideas to solve the problem of speed and reliability, and to improve the performanceof generator excitation system.Thesis by analyzing the basic components of the excitation system to determine CANcommunication as the core communication excitation system, by analyzing the basicprinciples of CAN communications, CAN networks of fiber-optic bus, ring, and startopology is analyzed, elected a star the study of the shape and design of the ring structure.By power loss, the time delay to allow the network to calculate the maximum number ofnodes. Designed in accordance with the basic principles of CAN transceivers, as well as thetraditional physical layer protocol CAN bus physical layer circuit fiber CAN networkbehind the overall circuit design to do the groundwork.Following the adoption of Altium Designer software to design specific circuit fiberring network, through commissioning, improved to achieve a transmission fiber CAN bus.Discuss and study the composition and structure of fiber optic star network, given the starnetwork implementation by comparing the ring and star networks, fiber CAN network tothe selected ring generator excitation system, and make practical circuit.Finally, the fiber ring network applications and generator excitation system,designed for fiber optic networks CAN network transmission experiments and experimentalmulti-master arbitration competition experiments, the experimental results were analyzed.By design of the circuit to achieve a communication fiber CAN bus. And to determine thenetwork transmission speed, strong anti-interference ability, high reliability, and eliminatesthe need for opt couplers, CAN transceiver and other devices, simplifying the circuit for thegenerator excitation system in the network test to use.
