The traditional optical cable monitoring relies on manual work,at higher cost of resources and labor,but it is difficult to improve the efficiency.With the continuous application of optical fiber communication technology,the number of channels of optical fiber lines is increasing,and the existing optical cable detection technology is difficult to meet the increasing detection needs of optical cable lines.Airborne fiber optic cable has special requirements for reliability,installation,voltage resistance,environment and mechanical performance.At the same time,the market price of advanced optical fiber communication testing equipment in developed countries is generally high,and the testing process is extremely complicated,which is difficult to meet the development needs of China~'s optical fiber communication technology.In view of these situations,and considering the characteristics of the existing optical fiber communication network and the scientific research needs,an integrated and multi-functional optical fiber testing equipment is developed,which can test the length of the optical fiber,the signal loss of the optical path,the echo intensity of the optical path connection point and the location detection of the optical path damage point,so as to achieve the purpose of testing the performance of the optical fiber line;at the same time,it can realize both the administrator~'s and the operator~'s requirements of the operation interface,and can automatically generate and print the report form after the completion of the whole fiber test.The main contents of this paper are as follows:1.Adopt the optical fiber power test method and OTDR test method to comprehensivelytest the transmission efficiency and data security of optical fiber so as to clarify the performance of optical fibers and the principle of related faults.What's more,to put forward a feasiblecost-effective scheme of optical fiber test,it also discusses and analyses the related faults of optical fibers;2.Perform detailed analysis according to the test requirements of the test system and build a hardware platform of the optical fiber detectionsystem.Provides the good hardware foundation for the software implementation;3.Design a software for functional testing based on the testing method of each parameter.The software function of optical fiber test equipment is verified by test cases;4.Test the data stability of the testing equipment.The function of optical fiber data receiving module will be tested by the optical fiber power meter and the optical time domain reflectometer,and the stable data sets of optical fiber can be obtained by verifying the detection coefficients.By applying this system to scientific research projects,the problem of difficult detection of optical fiber lines in a company has been effectively solved,and a reliabledetection method has been added to the company's optical fiber testing and maintenance system.On the premise of a stale fiber communication,it helps the company to save a lot of testing costs.It not only improves thecompany's economic benefits,but also provides a reference for other companies in the same industry to optimizethe optical fiber communication detection technology.
