Design And Implementation Of An SNMP Based Monitoring System For Digital Base Station

Digital base stations are deployed between terminals, in order to broad the specialwireless communication distance effectively. They are used widely, because they are simpleand cheap. However, in most case they are deployed on hill, suburbs and other remote areas.It is very inconvenient to maintenance. This paper proposed an SNMP based monitoringsystem for digital base station which can be a good solution to this problem. This systemallows the relevant personnel to monitor and maintenance the digital base stations remotely.The basic principle of this monitoring system is that we connect the digital base station tothe internet and run an SNMP agent on it, then we can monitor remotely by manager software.In this paper, we described the digital base station monitoring system based on SNMP in detail.The main contents include an overview and analysis of SNMP, summary and analysis of thedigital base station, analysis of the key technology of this system, the design of digital basestations’MIB and software realization of digital base station monitoring system.
