GSM is commonly known as the second generation of mobile communication and it is an open communication standards system. Since began to put into use in 1992, it has become the most widely used wireless communication standard in the world and plays an extremely important role in many fields.In this system, a base station is built by telecom network operators to work as network infrastructure with legal operational qualification. The base stations provide wireless coverage so that the users are able to have access to wireless network and communicate with others. Recently, phenomenon occurs frequently that some users’ personal information were stolen by the fake base station, which hinders the users’ normal network communication and even makes loss to personal property. Therefore, the GSM base station information monitoring is a significant measure, which could locate and track the pseudo base station in short time.In this thesis, it is designed for hardware acceleration on mobile equipment monitoring GSM base station information. The content of the main work is as follows:1) Decoding of GSM base station signal information based on Matlab simulation. Including the implementation of the algorithm of GSM base station downlink signal processing, verification of the correctness of the algorithm and the rationality of the results, and setting up communication system simulation module by their own system tools Simulink & System Generator.2) Construction of the base station information monitoring system was based on DSP. Adopt TMS320VC5509 A and CCS development environment to achieve the normal function of the base station information monitoring equipment and analyze the performance of device.3) By analyzing the performance of the GSM base station information monitoring device based on DSP, a FPGA was used to accelerate the algorithm for searching FCCH. IP core of the FPGA is utilized to realize hardware acceleration of the time consuming modules in the DSP system. The result of the experiment was shown as expected performance.Comprehensive the above, the main work of this thesis includes implementation of the DSP GSM base station information monitoring device, and the design and research of the equipment acceleration. By using the FPGA IP core, part of software algorithm modules were accelerated. The operation results were compared and the validity and reliability of the results was explained.
