Along with the modern industry automaticity level becomes more and more high,and theproduct line’s rhythm becomes more and more quick. Artificial detection technology andtraditional quality inspection method already could not satisfy the modern manufacturingindustry’s demand.Because of high accuracy,fast speed and high efficiency.Image detectiontechnology is more and more important in industrial field.Image acquisition and processingsystem is the most important part of Image detection technology. In recent years, the rapiddevelopment of Field Programmable Gate Array,because of its advantages,such as highdensity,small size,short development cycle and in-circuit programmable.FPGA is very suitablefor image acquisition and processing system.This paper introduces a design of image acquisition and processing system and use it onwood color select system.The system adopts the Altera company Cyclone Series IV FPGA as thecontrol chip.Toshiba CCD chip TCD2252D as the image sensor to collect the original imageinformation.ADI’s AD9822as the analog-to-digital conversion chip to converts the signals fromanalog format to digital.DM9000A drive the etherent,and deliver digital data to computer.UsingMATLAB to clip and do HSV color space transform for the image data, and calculate the V valueto determine the depth of the wood color.The software system was design by using QuartusⅡ9.1development platform and VHDLhardware description language.Completed the CCD’s driving timing,AD9822’s driving timingand the register control,dual port RAM to realize data buffer,DM9000A’s driving timing andregister control.Without NOIS,the etherent module is more fast,the fastest to reach40Mbps.It isvery suitable for high speed image acquisition and transmision.Using logic analyzer and Modelsim-Altera to test the each module.The system has reachedthe expectations.
