With the development of information and computer network technology,tremendous progress has been made in manufacturing information engineering. Inorder to responding market demand rapidly and improve enterprise competitiveness,the researchers have presented many new manufacturing models successively, suchas application service provider, agile manufacture, manufacturing grid and cloudmanufacturing. Networked manufacturing has become the new trend inmanufacturing filed. In networked manufacturing environment, due to regionalrestrictions of the manufacturing resources, manufacturing service providers (MSP)offer manufacturing service in the form of manufacturing capabilities throughvirtualization, encapsulating resources for manufacturing services customers(MSC).On the one hand, capability description and assessment of manufacturingequipment has become an urgent problem in the resource sharing environment; on theother hand, for the MCSs, After releasing the manufacturing tasks, how to select theoptimal manufacturing enterprise, job shop and even equipment is also a notabledemand.The influence factors of equipment capability are analyzed firstly and equipmentcapability assessment model is established in this paper. Then we present a dynamicevaluation method combined with the subjective and objective indices. The mainwork done is as follows:(1) The comprehensive evaluation methods of manufacturing resources arereviewed firstly. And we set up an evaluations indices hierarchy of manufacturingequipment through comprehensive analysis of the factors related to equipmentcapability, and present the quantitative measures of different types of indicators.Based on which, a dynamic comprehensive evaluation model of equipment capabilityis established, including rule-based manufacturability evaluation and comprehensiveassessment of the manufacturing performance.(2) In this paper, we propose a novel dynamic evaluation method formanufacturing performance. Manufacturing equipment capability assessment is amultiple attribute evaluation problem, in the process of evaluation, based on the established comprehensive evaluation indices hierarchy, using analytic hierarchyprocess (AHP) to determine the relative weights of indicators, combined with theproposed objective dynamic weight allocation method based on entropy of time. Acomplete dynamic evaluation method of equipment ability is presented overallprocess and equipment assessment.(3)We developed equipment ability evaluation application system according tothe design driven by manufacture task equipment optimization. After the definition ofspecific manufacturing task, we applied the matching rules to get alternativeequipment sets based on feature of manufacturability, and then combined with theanalysis of historical performance information of the possible equipment, and predictmanufacturing performance and present the recommendation of optimal equipmentfor manufacturing tasks.
