IPTV is a kind of new value-added services which is in IP transmission technology, with TVas display terminal, interactive video services as the main body, through broadband access to enjoythe multimedia service. It applies the technology of AV codec, content delivery network, networkcommunication, DRM and human-computer interaction, gives consumers rich and colorfulmultimedia service to enjoy. The business has the following characteristics: rapidgrowth,frequently changing, increasingly complex, pay attention to experience etc. IPTV set-topbox as a business loading and rendering device, in order to cater to the business features, thesystem architecture of open, expansibility and effectively enhance the user experience quality putforward higher requirements, the relevant research work becomes more and more important.In fact, in the IPTV set-top box for several years in the development process, the hardwarearchitecture experienced a general-purpose processor, video and audio DSP and SOC three maindevelopment stages, it has shown a highly integrated, monolithic multi-core multi interfacecharacteristics. Software architecture has experienced manufacturers closed design developmentphase, the operator more emphasis on manufacturers of interconnectivity and rapid businessdevelopment, put forward higher requirements on STB’s hardware and software design.How to adapt to the current IPTV set-top box development direction, through reasonablesystem architecture design and technology innovation.how to design product that meet user needsand have a competitive advantage is a topic worthy of study, the work and achievements aremainly embodied in the following aspects:From the entire IPTV STB system point of view, from macroscopic to microcosmic, fromlocal to the whole, in-depth research and reasonable sums up the components andprinciples of system.Based on the typical ST7105SOC main chip, research and analysis each hardwarefunction unit, include its working principle and characteristics,realize the hardwaresystem design.The software architecture is designed based on the idea of component,the mixed style ofFusion layer, service oriented and event based implicit call is used, greatly raise thesoftware system’s openness, extensibility and reusability.From the combination of hardware and software, system and terminal, based business andfamily business, do some effective research,desigh and implementation on how toenhance the user experience. The use of graphics hardware acceleration to optimize UIperformance, the use of FCC technology to optimize the channel switching speed ofresponse, the use of the realization of DLNA to establish the center of family integrationbusiness with the STB, greatly enhance the QOE (user experience quality).Through the work above, it provides a good theoretical guidance and support for IPTV set-top box design, the products passed the acceptance testing, and the operator dominant test andachieved excellent results, in the market has been the leading position and share.
