With the development of communication technology, network technology and a variety of smart appliances, the popularity of fiber to the home, the living room of the modern family is gradually developed into digitalized, networked and intelligent multimedia center. People can get and manage multimedia information from the mobile equipment and computer device and also smart appliances, and meanwhile people hope to easily enjoy a wide variety of multimedia content anywhere at home without considering where these multimedia content have been stored. However, the traditional network technology cannot meet the requirements of the general public due to the complex installation, configuration and management processThere have been many standardized protocols for family smart devices interconnection, such as IGRS, Airplay, DLNA and so on. This paper outlines the developing status of the digital home standardization, and analyzes the main techniques the organizations used. On this basis, we mainly research on the popularizing of the DLNA to home appliances interconnection and multimedia management. This paper also Studies the implementation of interoperable smart-home devices basic principle and mechanism, and analyzes the DLNA protocol stack, UPnP protocol and UPnP A/V architecture. In addition, DLNA home networking equipment divided into five device types:DMS(Digital Media Server), DMP(Digital Media Player), DMR(Digital Media Renderer), DMC(Digital Media Controller), DMPr(Digital Media Printer). Finally, this paper designed and implemented three basic device of DLNA(DMS, DMR, DMC) based on the Android system and Cling library which achieved the UPnP protocol. The DMC can access the multimedia content on the DMS and notify DMR to play the multimedia content, and then the DMP request the multimedia content data directly from the DMS to play. Further, in addition to these three logical devices can interact with each other, they also can communication with other applications which have implemented DLNA protocol in order to achieve sharing of multimedia content. So, by this application, we can push the multimedia from the mobile to computer or other device that achieve the DLNA protocol for playback, and vice versa.
