Electronic and optical communicationsare and will be the most popular methods ofinformation communication for human. The technology of wireless visible-light communicationplays a very important role in some short-range communication with the advantages ofradiationless, no need to apply for electromagnetic spectrum and combined with lightingfacilities. It will bring the users a convenient and safe way to suffer the Internet on the base ofwireless visible-light communication platform combined with Ethernet technology which iswidely used.The paper firstly gives the theoretical basis of Ethernet technology and research background,and introduces some advantages and disadvantages of several kinds of current opticalcommunication technology.Then it puts forward a design of indoor visible-light optical Ethernetcommunication system, and the structure diagram is given. After consider the feasibility andusage scenarios, it takes bi-directional parabolic antennas as the transceiver devices of thesystem and move on to the simulation with TracePro. Then it talks about the high-speed circuitsfor communications, and design the10/100Base-TX to100Base-FX transduction circuit. Afterthat it analyses the coding principle of Ethernet, aiming at the problem of high bit error rate, itfinishes a simulation with Hamming code in MatLab. Finally, it tests the performance of allabove components to verify the reliability of the system. At the end of the paper, the summary ofthe research is given and the future of the system is prospected.
