Commercial Exploitation Model Of Archival Information Resources

Commercial exploitation of archival information resources is the response to the national development of cultural industries and information. It implements national guidance on strengthening the exploitation and utilization of information resources. Exploring archival information resources commercial exploitation model is of great significance for archives basic theory, especially for archives utilization theory. This paper compares the exploitation means of commercial exploitation of archival information in China and in foreign countries. The core issue of archival information resources commercial exploitation is access and transfer of exploitation rights. This paper makes policy recommendations to the archives department to improve archival information resources exploitation and utilization environment and give full play to its social and economic value.This paper clarifies the difference and relationship between nonprofit exploitation and commercial exploitation of archival information resources. Commercial exploitation is a useful complement to nonprofit exploitation, and it is the development trend of archival information resources exploitation. This paper summarizes existing archival information resources exploitation forms, and recommends three types of archival resources as commercial exploitation market entry point, namely archives originals, digital archival information resources and compilation products. Case study is used to describe important achievements of foreign archival information resources exploitation, and revelation of developing archival information resources commercial exploitation in China is derived.This paper analyzes the policy environment and laws and regulations basis of archival information resources commercial exploitation. Based on the actual needs, this paper makes policy recommendations to the authorities, calling for strengthening policy guidance and improving the legal system to provide good development environment for the realization of the value of archival information resources.
