| Southern Weekend was founded in February1984, and today has developed morethan30years. The master thesis regards Culture version of Southern Weekend newsreports as the research object and attempts to summarize the characteristics of the placebased on the analysis of its content on, and makes some advise for upholding developingcultural news in the new media environment.The first chapter is the theoretical basis mainly introducing the conceptual issues ofcultural news, its development process and the current situation of culture news. I believethat the concept of cultural news have different definitions because of differentperspectives, so no need to stick to a fixed concept, and thus we can make our ownunderstanding in the specific case.The content of second chapter is a cultural version in2013of the news reportsstatistical sample concludes that layouts edition settings and reports tendency, showingthe tendency of its edition, learning that culture news focus cultural events of domesticcities and abroad, specially broader coverage areas.Chapter III attempts to conclude its characteristics of the reporting style, narrativestyle, with a choice of subject matter and graphic aspects on the basis of those statistics,and then analyzes the characteristics reported on the contents, also it is cultural core andthe newspaper’s "mental charm".The fourth chapter presents that upholding their own cultural characteristics on thewave of new media is necessary. High-quality media content production is stillfundamental to survive in the communication multimedia era. To take advantage ofgrowth opportunities in the context of new media, it needs to further strengthen itself onthe basis of content.Southern Weekend cultural reports have led many in the media, and now some of thenewspaper coverage of cultural remains flooding vulgarization reports, shallow culturaltastes or artistic reported boring artistic reports, Southern Weekend culture coverage has arole in this benchmark and instructive perspectives. |
