Southern Weekend, a famous newspaper with domestic and international influence,has made Homicide Reports been its themes for almost thirty years. HomicideReports of Southern Weekend has gained widely praise from its readers by rationalinvestigation, comprehensive analysis and deep interpretation.Homicide Reports of Southern Weekend has been well known for for its diverseperspectives and depth of interpretation, as it focused on finding the reason ofhomicide from murderer’s psychological world, living surrounding and socialdevelopment. Southern Weekend is good at exposing the truth, reflecting problems indevelopment of our society, and exploring the human nature of good and evil byHomicide Reports. I have selected all homicide reports and related reports fromSouthern Weekend from according to the years from2004to2012. I will try tointroduce Narratology Theory and analyze typical text samples taken from thesereports and find the narrative law of them. My study perspectives of this paper includethe narrator, narrative time, narrative perspective, narrative structure and discourseconstruction. This paper tries to find narrative features of Homicide Reports ofSouthern Weekend and show the ideology system founded the texts which persist onpopularizing idea of fairness, justice and the rule of law.After analyzing its social value and the significance, this paper also show twomajor problems of the texts Homicide Reports of Southern Weekend: the conflictbetween ideology of discourse and objectivity of journalism, imbalance of the right tospeak between the murderer and the victim, and thus to propose a solution.
