China ’s aging process, and urbanization, industrialization and the level ofeconomic development is not synchronized, the aging society will the country’s political,economic and social have some impact. As the highest rate of older people contacts, themost dependent mass media television media, has the responsibility and obligation torun all kinds of old TV shows, and better services for the elderly, promote the buildingof a harmonious society. This paper focuses on older television programs as a researchobject, using a variety of angles sociology, communication studies, psychology, etc.,will be older TV programs and economic, social, cultural, political and other contactswere made to the literature review, observation, qualitative analysis of basic researchmethods, our old television programs were studied. First, the history of the old TV show,current situation and problems, were understanding and analysis; then discusses thesocial background from aging, aging and economic development and social stability,social function in elderly television programs in three areas founder of the necessity andurgency of older television programs; Finally, the strategic development of the country’saging television programs, television media, government and advertisers should payattention to older TV programs, multilateral cooperation and jointly create a better andmore healthy older TV program.
