In preschool children’s books, picture books accounted for70percent. Picture booksusing images to tell stories which meets children’s psychological characteristics. Picture bookscan stimulate children’s interest in reading, improve children’s language skills, logicalthinking, creativity and aesthetic aspects. Digital picture books are emerging products underthe effects of digital technology. Digital picture books’s main function is storytelling, supplemented by the form of games. Preschoolers user as a special user group and differentfrom the adults. It is necessary to focus on they, study the cognitive level, the use ofexpectations and habits, in order to design products that meet the needs of pre-school children.Children’s digital picture book is a worthy area for research, with good design anddevelopment prospects. Today, the market is flooded with a large number of children’s booksand children’s products, in order to impress consumers, digital developers should not onlywork on meeting user needs for children, parents’ needs should also be taken into account. After the literature research, based on the user-centered interaction design design method, theories of interaction for digital picture books are proposed in this paper. The purpose of thetheories is trying to improve the interaction experience then to improve the interactionbetween human. The core objective of product design for children is to promote interactionbetween the user and the digital picture books, especially the interaction between parents andchildren, between children. New reading mode called parent-child reading mode and sharingmode are proposed in this paper. Using an easy and interesting way to interact preschoolchildren’s interest in reading, to promote parent-child communication, and make digital pictuebooks beocome Children’s social platform. In order to verify and elaborate processes and methods of digital picture book proposedby author, a paper picture books "Adi and Julie" was used for design practice. First of all theresearch on preschoolers and their associated users user was done to extract userscharacteristics. Then design scenarios had to be built based on the user characters in order toanalyze users’ needs. the main demand of users including play, learning, social interaction andlove, the needs of most users is to promote parent parent-child’s communication. Based onthe users needs, design models were built including low-fidelity prototypes and high-fidelityprototypes. Then suing user test to evaluate and improve the prototypes. Test users gave apositive assessment to the high-didelity model. The posibilities and good effects of sharingreading between parent-child and children on the digital picture books was verified basiclly.
