In many engineering applications, we need to use a high frame rate, high resolution MC1362camera to shoot experimental phenomena and resulte in a large, high speed image data. How to store the image data lossless and then transmit the image data to the host computer for subsequent image processing is the focus of this study.This paper describes the background, and gives the overall design for the system according to mission requirements, and then the whole system is divided into three parts, namely, input interface section, SATA storage section and upload module section. The design of each section is described detailed. Input interface section majorly receives the high-speed image data from Camera Link interface. For the SATA storage section, we use modular design method to achieve the SATA controller including physical layer, link layer, transport layer and application layer of the SATA protocol in a single FPGA and achieve the storage of the image data. Upload module section uses MPC8313E do master chip and applies embedded Gigabit Ethernet to achieve the upload of the image data. The whole system achieves real-time storage of500MByte/s high-speed data from high-speed camera. After the storage task is completed, the image data can be uploaded to the host computer by103Mbit/s through Gigabit Ethernet interface.
