| Radio Frequency IDentification(RFID) technology is a novel wirelesscommunication technology which can accomplish wireless identification with electronictags. This technology can read or write data through the electronic tags on the objects toobtain the informantion. Nowadays RFID technology is widely used for informantionexchange without contact. Ultra High Frequency (UHF) RFID, as one of the technologyof RFID, has advantages on large-distance reading, fast writing and multi-tag operating,so it has a bright prospect.A UHF RFID reader structure based on discrete components is designed in thispaper. The baseband signal processing in ISO18000-6C protocol is implemented withSingle ChipMachines (SCMs). The application of SCMs on baseband protocol cansatisfy the readers for different protocols. In addition, it can provide a test flatform formonolithic readers. The mainly researching work in this paper is as below:1. An analysis of ISO18000-6C protocol is given, and an architecture of the UHFRFID reader system is presented based on the requirement of readers in the protocol inthis paper.2. An analysis of the mechanism of carrier leakage in radio frequency circuits ispresented, and a method for carrier leakage suppression is proposed in this paper. Thesuppression can be as much as20dB. The signal to noise ratio is improved effectivelywith the insertion of a low noise amplifier in the receiver part.3. The basebnad signal processing is implemented based on the requirement of thecommunication protocol between the readers and tags in ISO18000-6C, as well as thecontrol of reader to tags. Additionally, the PC software is designed with C++languageas the human-computer interaction interface, and a complete UHF RFID reader systemis implemented. The measurement results show an identification distance of5m can beimplemented. |
