With the promotion of Things technology in various fields, more and more attention has been paid on radio frequency identification (RFID). RFID technology apply in various fields for fast reading and writing, large data capacity, long identify distance.The emergence of ISO/IEC18000-6C protocol brings fresh vitality for RFID technology,and UHF RFID reader based on ISO/IEC18000-6C protocol has become the focus of the field. Therefore, the research and design of the UHF RFID reader based on the FPGA to has great significance.This thesis studies of digital baseband system of RFID reader which is base on ISO/IEC18000-6C protocol and designs by FPGA, accomplish the main content as follow:Firstly, describe the current UHF protocols and analyze ISO/IEC18000-6c protocol in detail. Analyze coding techniques, data check methods, the reader command and tag states, and anti-collision technology of the protocol. On this basis,propose the indicators of the digital baseband system design.Secondly, based on the analysis of the overall framework of the reader, design the framework of digital baseband system. The digital baseband system includes PIE coding module,FMO decoding module, CRC check module, parallel to serial module, anti-collision module, filters, protocol control module and communication interface module. Also, analyze the anti-collision algorithm of RFID system, and improve the anti-collision algorithm. The improved algorithm is better than the previous algorithm.Thirdly, design the entire digital baseband system using Verilog HDL and top-down design method. Synthesize the system using Xilinx’s ISE software. All modules have been simulated using Modelsim software. All modules have been implemented on the Spartan6series XC6SLX16chip and verified using spartan6series FPGA development board. The function has proven correct.Accomplish simulation and FPGA verification for the entire digital baseband system, proven the functions meet the requirements and complete the design indicators.
